Introduction:

Nile for Peace Initiative presents the following study “Towards a Participatory Environment in the Nile Basin: Strengthening the Role of Women“. The study addresses the role of women in building development in the Nile Valley Basin, as well as the role of women in peace-building, while focusing on their role in solving the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) crisis, and concludes with an overview of the future of women in Africa between opportunities and challenges.

Criteria to Join The Alliance

  • Must be from a Nile Basin Country, or a member of a country that is known to be able to intervene, or must be a member of Civil Society willing to support Global Advocacy.
  • Must have skills and knowledge in Research and Advocacy.
  • Must be working on areas of Governance, Climate Change, Democracy, Human Rights.
  • Must be having activities at national or international level.
  • Willing to support Advocacy around the Dam.
